The Start Up - Its Just the Beginning

Our team has had an exciting and productive start as we began shaping When We Come Together, our interactive light installation inspired by the Thirteen Grandmother Moons. Over the first week, we focused on establishing our structure, setting up clear communication, and bringing the project’s early creative and technical elements to life.

Team Coordination and Meetings

To begin, the team established regular meetings to align on goals, deadlines, and responsibilities. Jasmine and Sarah took the lead in organizing our communication channels, managing scheduling, and consistently keeping everyone on track with ongoing deliverables. This structure helped the group stay organized and ensured that all parts of the project developed cohesively.

Prototype Development and Technical Progress

Carolina began working on coding the interactive prototype that brings the micro-tile installation to life. Her technical work laid the foundation for how movement will translate into responsive light. In addition, she created an interview for social media and assembled our first presentation video, capturing the story of our project’s concept and process.

Marketing and Communication

Angel developed the initial marketing outline that will guide how When We Come Together will be shared with audiences across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Angel also drafted presentation slides alongside Jasmine and collaborated with Lisa on the postcard design. In addition, a first blog post was written for the website to begin documenting the team’s progress and vision. 

Jasmine and Lisa took charge in organizing the social media platforms and creating the promotional video and the first posts to showcase the announcement of the project.

Website Creation and Management

Sarah spearheaded the creation of the project’s Wix website, which will serve as the central hub for updates, documentation, and media. She also conducted one of the first team interviews for social media and coordinated deadlines and communications alongside Jasmine to keep all elements moving forward.

Design and Branding

Lisa focused on establishing the project’s design system, including colour palette, typography, and logo. She also created the first social media post and led the poster and postcard designs, as well as the creation of the promotional video, ensuring consistency across all promotional materials. Her visual direction helped bring cohesion to the project’s overall brand identity.

Looking Ahead

As the project progresses, the team will continue refining the prototype, building out the website, and developing promotional materials leading up to the presentation. Each member’s contributions this week laid the foundation for what promises to be an inspiring and collaborative creative process.
